Polycom SoundStation 2 Expandable Conference Phone

Smart technology, such as Dynamic Noise Reduction (DNR), provides maximum microphone sensitivity, while reducing distracting room and background noise. And the SoundStation2 offers 360-degree microphone coverage with intelligent mixing -- so only the microphone closest to the speaker is on for crystal clear conferencing. Add traditional telephone features like redial, mute, transfer, and hold and you have a conference phone that's also familiar and easy to use.

The phone and performance is excellent.
We have used these Polycoms for years at work installed as fixed assets in certain larger conference rooms.
I finally bought my own personal Polycom to travel with me to the many smaller non-equipped conference rooms we use and have available.
You will never be satisfied to use a cheap desk speaker phone again.
The main complaint I have is actually about the large wall mounted power transformer unit.
The spades that plug into the wall are fixed hard to the large transformer, and do not fold flat for storage or travel. They are robust, however.
This means the transformer spades stick straight out and try to poke holes through the optional travel case, and will wear holes through it eventually.
The alternative is to turn it around in the case, and let the spades hammer on the surface of the phone itself. NOT!
The phone is excellent, and if you are plugging it in and forgetting it, the transformer will be fine.
If you are carrying it around from room to room, you may be annoyed by the transformer spade design.
The phone fits the optional travel case great. The transformer does not.

Cons: length of cord for ext mikes
Polycom SoundStation 2 ordered and received on time. Product was in original package and all components were present. Phone worked as advertised right out of the box. Very intuitive operation with manual to assist if needed. Overall very satisfied with ordering process, delivery and quality of product. The length of the cord for the extension microphones could be a bit longer.

Device was clear to hear from both ends. Worked right away.
Only problem I had is that the caller could hear me from about 10 feet away, but he said it sounded far away. You need the extra mics for medium to large conference rooms. Perfect without the mics in small conference room, but then you could buy the polycom that you cannot add mics for a little less.
